IMV 2200

It took us about 6 years to find one, but in the end we succeeded! Here it is, our ‘new’ IMV 2200D – a utility vehicle built in Slovenia by Industrija Motornih Vozil from Novo Mesto. I just looove the six wheels!

IMV 2200D

IMV stands for ‘Industry of Motorised Vehicles’ and does not exist anymore. The company split up in Revoz, a Renault Factory and the famous Adria caravan and motor home factory.

You wouldn’t believe it, but our IMV is a former fire-fighter engine, used by Prostovoljno Gasilsko Drustvo Bohinjska Bela in Slovenia for 20 years! You can actually see this vehicle on photos from their history webpage (click on the thumbnails). It was built in 1971, had run for about 68.000 km when we’ve got it and has an 2.2 litre Mercedes Benz diesel engine, which sounds a lot faster than it really is…

We are restoring the vehicle by original specifications and intend to equip it as expedition camper. You can imagine the BIG travel plans we have for this one!!!
